Voltaire secures $13.2m second round funding; Hg Capital buys Eagle Music for £34m.

Voltaire secures $13.2m second round funding

Voltaire, a developer of connectivity technology, has secured $13.2m second round funding from a group of investors led by Baker Capital and Pitango Venture Capital. The money raised will be used to further develop the company’s product set and for marketing.

Tamir Fishman Ventures, Platinum Ventures Capital and Challenge Fund also invested. In May 2001, the company secured $9.3m.

Hg Capital buys Eagle Music for £34m

UK private equity firm Hg Capital has bought record and video company Eagle Rock Entertainment from German company Eagle Music for £34m. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed, but Hg has taken a 67 per cent stake in the company.

The deal allows Eagle Rock’s other investor BMG to exit its investment.

Hg Capital manages around E1bn in funds and invests in companies with values of between E15m and E400m. These companies operate in the business services, healthcare, IT and media sectors.
