The relationship between private equity fund managers and their investors has dominated Private Equity International’s pages since we first started writing about the asset class nearly 15 years ago. In 2013, we launched the LP 50 to provide an answer to a simple question: who are the largest investors in the asset class?

Now in its third year, the LP 50 tracks the activity of fund investors and managers globally. We asked investors around the world to reveal the amount of capital they had committed to private equity.
