Adams Street Partners has expanded its Singapore team with the hire of Yar-Ping Soo as a partner on its investment team.
She will be involved in all aspects of the firm’s activities in her new role and will focus on fund investments and co-investments in the Asia-Pacific region, the firm said in a statement.Â
Soo joins Adams Street from GIC Special Investments, the private equity division of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation. She spent more than 10 years at the sovereign fund, working out of its New York, Redwood City and Singapore offices.Â
In her most recent role at GIC Special Investments, she was the head of Asia/emerging markets, in charge of the sovereign fund’s commitments to private equity funds and co-investments in the region. She also represented the firm on fund advisory committees and boards of companies.
Adams Street Partners has been investing in Asia since 2003 and it established its first Asian office in Singapore three years later. The firm plans to establish its second office in Beijing in 2011, the firm said.
