Adams Street Partners bolsters Asia team

The firm has hired former Capital Dynamics managing director Ben Hart, following the appointment of Asian investment team head Yar-Ping Soo in December.

Fund of funds manager Adams Street Partners has named Ben Hart as partner and head of business development in Asia.

Hart joins the firm from global private equity firm Capital Dynamics, where he was managing director and chief operating officer of Asia, heading the firm’s business development efforts in Asia and North America, according to a statement. The appointment becomes effective 19 January.

In his new role, Ben will lead business development efforts from Adam Street’s Singapore office, working to further develop the firm’s presence in Asia. He will work with Yar-Ping Soo who was appointed to head Adam Street’s Asia investment team in December, as reported by Private Equity International.

Hart has nearly 20 years of experience living and building businesses in Asia and speaks and reads Mandarin. Before Capital Dynamics, he was managing director at telecom network managing consultancy Aircom International in Singapore. Hart has also been based in Beijing, working on business development for both Alliance Digital and Convergys Corporation.

“We are delighted to welcome Ben to our steadily growing team in Asia. Ben’s extensive experience leading private equity business development efforts enables us to further expand our footprint in Asian markets and reaffirms our commitment to the region,” said Jeff Diehl, managing partner at Adams Street.

Adams Street Partners has been investing in private equity partnerships since 1979 in more than 30 countries. The firm has more than 130 employees and manages over $27 billion of assets.
