American Capital promotes Graff

Brian Graff will become president of private finance

Maryland-based American Capital has promoted Brian Graff to president of private finance. Graff is currently a senior vice president and senior managing director at the firm.

Prior to joining American Capital in 2001, Graff was a principal at Odyssey Investment Partners.

American Capital is a publicly traded private equity firm and global asset manager. The firm focuses on investments in middle market private equity, leveraged finance, real estate, energy & infrastructure and structured products.

American Capital was most recently in market with its third flagship fund which closed on $1.1 billion in September, according to Private Equity International’s research and analytics division.

In 2012, the firm launched an energy-focused infrastructure initiative with $200 million to build out that part of the business. Other funds focus on North American buyouts and secondaries.
