Baring Private Equity appoints marketing partner

The private equity firm believes that investor relations are increasingly important and has appointed Gail Guerin to head this.

In a move that reflects a number of private equity firms increasingly proactive approach to communicating with prospective as well as existing investors in their funds, Baring Private Equity Partners [BPEP] has named Gail Guerin as senior partner responsible for marketing. Guerin joins from Hamilton Lane Advisors, a private equity investment firm based in Pennsylvania, US, where she was a managing director. She will report to Christopher Brotchie, chief executive of BPEP, and will divide her time between London and the U.S.

Commenting on the appointment, Christopher Brotchie said: “As BPEP continues to grow and develop, we believe that investor relations and reporting are increasingly important, and we are committed to achieve excellence in all aspects of investor communications. Accordingly, we are delighted to have been able to attract someone of Gail's stature and experience to head up this function.”

Baring Private Equity Partners is the international third party private equity arm of ING Asset Management. It provides major institutions with access to private equity investments in all major markets outside the US through a range of dedicated regional funds. As at 31 December 2000, BPEP’s active portfolio of investments comprised 161 companies at a cost of investment of E1.2bn.
