Benson Elliot hires Dubai Investment Group MD

Trish Geery, formerly managing director and head of global real estate for the Dubai Investment Group, has joined Marc Mogull’s recently launched private equity real estate business.

Benson Elliot Capital Management, a private equity real estate firm launched by former Doughty Hanson real estate head Marc Mogull, has appointed Trish Geery as a partner in the firm.

Geery: focus on France and continental Europe

t Benson Elliot, Geery will focus on private equity real estate transactions in France and other continental European territories. She will also be a member of the investment committee for the firm’s first fund, Benson Elliot Real Estate Partners II, which raised €264 million ($338 million) of a target €300 million in a first close last month.
 
Geery joined Dubai Investment Group in 2004. While there, she was responsible for more than €1 billion of real estate investments and built the European investment team and established an office in London.
 
Geery started her real estate career at Goldman Sachs in New York in 1994, later based in Paris and London. From 2002, she headed the $220 million GS Core Plus Real Estate Income Fund.
 
Benson Elliot Real Estate Partners II will make investments in European real estate assets primarily in the UK, Germany, Scandinavia, Italy, France and Central and Eastern Europe.
