Bowman Capital expands into Europe

High tech investment firm Bowman Capital has launched its European operations with the appointment of three investment professionals.

Kevin Sara, formerly of Robert Fleming and Company, and Hazel Cameron, who previously worked at 3i, are the firm’s first general partners. Bozkurt Aydinoglu has been appointed principle of the London office. He previously worked at Europ@web.

Lawrence A. Bowman, founder of Bowman Capital, said: “We are eager to partner with experienced management teams in Europe to help them create the next Cisco or Nokia. We’ve worked hard with technology executives in the US, and look forward to doing the same in Europe. Having Hazel Cameron and Kevin Sara on board creates a foundation for us to invest in Europe.”

Prior to joining Bowman, Sara was the head of technology corporate finance at London-based Robert Fleming and Company. He has extensive knowledge in new media, internet service providers, e-commerce, telecommunications equipment, computer hardware, software, and telecom providers. During his 18-year career, Sara has also worked for Salomon Brothers, UBS Limited, McKinsey & Co. and Northern Business Information Inc.

Hazel Cameron was previously an investment director at 3i, a leading European venture capital company. At 3i, Cameron worked with the Scottish venture team, investing $100 million annually. While she has invested in various areas of technology, she has particular focus in the sectors of optical equipment, telecom networking and software.

Bowman Capital specialises in both public and private technology growth companies. The firm currently manages more than $5 billion in assets. The company has offices in New York and London.
