British Patient Capital approves £15m commitment

The UK government-backed investor has invested in an early-stage private equity fund.

British Patient Capital, a subsidiary of British Business Bank, has committed £15 million to Seedcamp V, according to a recent press release.

Seedcamp V held a first and final close in November 2020, raising £78 million in equity capital. The fund was oversubscribed by 50 percent.

British Patient Capital also previously committed to the fund’s predecessor, Seedcamp IV, which has invested in early-stage companies such as online events platform Hopin.

British Patient Capital tends to focus its private equity fund commitments on venture capital and growth equity vehicles.
