CapMan invests in Republica

The Finnish private equity firm has taken a 25 per cent stake in the technology enabling company.

CapMan Capital Management Oy has invested in Republica Oy, a company which specialises in e-and m-business enabling technologies. The company says it will use the capital for product development and international expansion.

Republica’s X-Fetch product facilitates integration between and within different IT systems and its clients include system integrators ICL Invia, TietoEnator, and Iocore as well as large end-user organisations such as KONE Corporation and Valmet Corporation.

CapMan’s Investment Director Jari Talvinen said: “Republica’s strong technology know-how fits well together with our technology investment strategy.”

Republica employs 50 staff at its premises in Jyväskylä and Helsinki. It says that close relations with the academic world are valuable in keeping up with rapidly evolving technology trends and to facilitate recruitment of qualified personel. The company was formed in 1996.

CapMan Capital Management Oy specialises in medium-sized management buy-outs and buy-ins and targets investments in the TMT sectors. The company has funds in excess of E950m under management. To date CapMan has invested in more than 90 companies in Finland and Europe.
