Citadel hires head of communications

The Cairo-based private equity firm specialising in investment in the Middle East and North Africa has appointed Ghada Hammouda to manage its communication strategy as it seeks to widen its investor base.

Private equity firm Citadel Capital has appointed Ghada Hammouda as its head of corporate communications.

Hammouda will be responsible for Citadel’s communications strategy as the Cairo-based firm seeks to expand its investor base beyond the Middle East and North Africa.

Hammounda’s expertise includes strategic business planning and the global expansion of brands, the firm said in a statement.

Prior to joining Citadel, Hammouda spent 15 years as a senior executive and consultant in New York for various companies, including digital rights manager Reciprocal, brand management firm Ogilvy & Mather and advertising agency Ayer & Partners.

Hammouda was also a board member of New York-based Sunhawk Corporation, which provides digital rights management for music downloading.

Citadel was established in 2004 and controls investments of more than $8.3 billion in industries including mining, oil and gas, cement, transportation and food.
