Michael Philipp, chairman and chief executive of Credit Suisse for the EMEA, or Europe, the Middle East and Africa regions, ended his three years with the bank on Monday to form his own company, according to an internal memo obtained by PEO.
Philipp’s firm will focus on investment management and advisory services in the Middle East and Africa.
“We expect to work with him as a client of Credit Suisse,” said a spokesman, who declined further comment.
As Credit Suisse’s first ever chief executive of the EMEA region, Philipp established the firm’s regional and country management models and expanded its reach into the Middle East and North Africa. He also aided in establishing joint ventures in Saudi Arabia and South Africa.
