B-Business leads E8m Esual funding

B-Business has led the third round financing of Esual Software, a France-based developer of internet software. The E8m financing round takes Esual softwares total financing to E15.6m. Additional investment was provided by existing investors, Ventech, Siparex, and CIC. Existing investor Trinova did not participate in the round.

The latest round of financing will be used for product development as well as for sales expansion in Europe and the US. Esual CFO Vincent Bernardeau anticipates that this round of funding will carry the company through to breakeven in 2004.

InnovationsKapital backs Visual Wireless

Early stage venture capital firm InnovationsKapital has provided financing for Swedish IT company Visual Wireless. The value of the investment was undisclosed, although the Swedish VC firm becomes Visual Wireless’ third largest owner. Founded in 1991, this is Visual Wireless’ first financing round.

InnovationsKapital was founded in 1994 and provides financing for early stage Nordic companies specialising in ICT and healthcare & life sciences. The firm has E193m under management across three funds.

SAM backs Energetech

Guernsey-based private equity firm SAM Equity Partners is to invest E1.75m in Australian alternative energy company Energetech. The total investment for the round is E3.5m, with three Swiss renewable energy investors, namely SAM Smart Energy, Prime New Energy and ProgressNow! Invest AG.

SAM Equity Partners is a wholly owned subsidiary of SAM Sustainable Asset Management, an asset management firm based in Switzerland. Energetech will use the investment to further develop the commercial application of its wave energy technology.
