Carlyle leads Trema funding; Olicom Invests in Tpack; Amadeus invests in Enigmatec

Carlyle leads Trema funding

Carlyle Europe Venture Partners has led a $20m funding round in Trema, the UK-based provider of software products for the financial industry. Other participants in the round include DB Capital Venture Partners, Deutsche Bank's strategic private equity technology investment arm, and Trema's founders.

Carlyle Group director Fred Phillips is to take a seat on Trema's board. The firm said its revenues increased by 43 per cent in 2001. The company will use the new funding to develop its existing markets, expand geographically, and for research and development. 

Olicom Invests in Tpack

Olicom has led the first round financing for Tpack, a Danish semiconductor firm that develops and markets technology for intelligent data services. The funding has been provided in syndication with Slottsbacken Funds, a Scandinavian venture capital fund managed by ACR Capital and InnFond, a Danish early stage investment fund.

Olicom has committed E1.7m of the group's total commitment of E6m total. The firm and will receive a 21.7 per cent stake in Tpack.

Amadeus invests in Enigmatec

Amadeus Capital Partners, the technology investor, today announced that its Mobile Seed Fund has made its first investment and taken a £1m stake in Enigmatec, a wireless software developer.

Amadeus Capital Partners, the technology investor, held a first closing at £3m for its Amadeus Mobile Seed Fund late last year. Investors include Lucent Venture Partners and TTP Communications. The fund, which will invest in very early stage wireless businesses based in and around Cambridge in the UK, has a target of £10m.
