Doughty Hanson boosts IR team

The UK mid-market buyout firm Doughty Hanson has boosted its investor relations team, as a former journalist joins the firm from a similar role at Altius Associates.

UK investment firm Doughty Hanson has recruited Guy Paisner in an investor relations role from advisory firm and fund manager Altius Associates.

He will work under Stephen Marquardt, head of investor relations and joint chief operating officer at Doughty Hanson.

Paisner was a partner at Altius with responsibility for investor relations and business development in Europe. He was formerly the editor of Private Equity News and before that he was the European venture capital writer for technology investment magazine Red Herring, writing there at the end of the dotcom boom.

Paisner said: “I would like to build on the knowledge that I acquired as a journalist and at Altius.”

Last month Doughty Hanson sold power distribution business Moeller Group to trade buyer Eaton Corporation for €1.55 billion ($2.27 billion) making a three times return on its investment. Doughty Hanson Real Estate last month also sold its office portfolio in Kista, Stockholm for SEK2.9 billion ($451 million; €315 million). The sale is the first realisation from Doughty Hanson’s second real estate fund.
