Duke Street Capital has promoted three staff to key positions in the group. Frédéric Chauffier has been named as managing director, with responsibility for Duke Street’s Continental European activities. The private equity firm has also promoted Buchan Scott to chief executive of the group and Julian Brock to director.
Buchan Scott will be responsible for the co-ordination of private equity activities throughout Europe. He joined Duke Street last year from the FI Group, the business technology services company. He started his career in the corporate finance department of Herbert Smith.
Chauffier joined Duke Street in 1998 from SPEF, the private equity arm of Banques Populaires in France. He has worked on deals including Métaux Spéciaux, ICV Publiprox and Marie Brizard. He started his career in Corporate Finance with Smith Barney in New York and has worked on continental deals since 1991.
Julian Brock joined Duke Street Capital in 1994 from Hambros Corporate Finance. He has been involved with Duke Street transactions both on the continent and in the UK, including Marie Brizard, Mr Music, Focus Do It All and Steiner Industries.
