Exclusive: MVision makes three senior US hires

Leading global alternative investment advisory firm MVision has made three senior management hires for its New York office, Private Equity International can reveal.

Kay Blackwell (pictured) and Erica Johnson joined this year as managing directors while William Riedlinger joins this month as a director. Blackwell joined MVision from  Citi Private Bank, where she had spent more than nine years in both New York and London responsible for global private equity, real estate and private debt product management. In her new role she will manage global fundraising efforts and deal with the firm's global GP and investor base.

Johnson joins from boutique placement business ERJ Group, where she was a founding principal. Prior to that she spent six years at Guggenheim Partners, representing the firm's in house private equity, real estate and hedge fund investment vehicles.

Riedlinger had former roles including vice president at Barclays Wealth, as well as five years at Atlantic-Pacific Capital, where he was involved with originating, structuring and executing third-party fundraises of private equity and real estate firms for global institutional investors.

All three new employees will work alongside co-founding partner Hussein Khalifa, as well as the rest of the senior teams in MVision's San Francisco and New York offices.

“In the last six months we have opened a new office in San Francisco, added two managing directors to our Hong Kong team and have significantly strengthened our European team as part of a major global expansion.”

The new hires come following the departure of MVision managing partner Jennifer Rinehart, who left the New York office after more than 13 years, to become founder and partner at private equity and venture capital firm Acalyx Advisors. Rinehart was also joined in her new venture by MVision vice president Joe McDonald and former  MVision partner Lina Russo. All three stopped working at MVision more than six months ago.
