Go Equity in double hire

The Austrian private equity firm has recruited two new team members in an effort to bring more international experience to its Vienna-based operation.

Vienna-based Go Equity, the investor in small and medium sized businesses in Austria and neighbouring countries, has drafted in two additional team members.

Murli Bhamidipati has joined the firm as an investment director, having spent seven years at GE Capital in London and Luxembourg, where has been a director in the structured finance division since 2000. Prior to GE, he spent six years in project finance at Deutsche Bank in London and Frankfurt.

In addition, Ralf Flore has been recruited as an investment executive from Swiss Life Private Equity Partners, where he was responsible for a portfolio of direct investments and fund investments and represented Swiss Life on the boards of various funds in the US and Europe. Prior to that, he was at CapVis Equity Partners, the Swiss mid-market buyout firm.

Go Equity now comprises a five-strong team headed by managing partners Thomas Lenzinger and Vijai Gill.

Gill told PrivateEquityOnline that one of the key motivations for the appointments was to strengthen the team by adding international experience. Gill said the firm was seeing strong deal flow in Southern Germany, Switzerland and Croatia as well as Austria.

He added: “We are seeing plenty of deal flow, both in Austria and neighbouring countries. Things are definitely better then they were one or two years ago, particularly in our target segment of small buyouts and expansion capital in the mid-market.”

Go Equity is currently investing a €54 million ($70 million) fund it closed in October 2002. Gill said the firm was unlikely to hit the fundraising trail again until 2006 at the earliest.
