Henderson to launch German FoFs

Henderson has announced the creation of two private equity fund of funds in conjunction with Feri Alternative Assets aimed at the German institutional market.

Henderson Private Capital, the private equity arm of Henderson Global Investors, is to team up with Feri Alternative Assets to simultaneously launch two private equity fund of funds aimed at the German institutional market.

Henderson North-America Private Equity Fund of Funds 2002/2003 and Henderson European Private Equity Fund of Funds 2002/2003, will invest in portfolios of top quality North American and European private equity funds, predominantly buyouts.

Henderson hopes to raise E100-150m across the two funds, which will close in January 2003. According to Henderson’s co-head Jan Faber, “The funds will only invest in private equity funds launched this year or in 2003 with subsequent funds planned for launch in future years.” A Henderson Capital spokesperson added that investments will be made towards the end of the year.

Henderson Private Capital has over 60 staff in eight geographic locations around the world, managing approximately $2.5bn of private equity assets as at 31 December 2001.

Feri Alternative Assets is part of the independent Feri Finance Group based in Bad Homburg, Germany. Feri focuses on financial research, asset allocation and fund management and specialises in customised fund of fund solutions for investors.
