Robert Henigs has joined Finatem from DZ Equity Partner, the private equity arm of DZ Bank, where he was a managing director.
He has over ten years’ experience in the German mid-cap private equity business and was responsible for two deals in which DZ Equity Partner co-invested with Finatem. He was also responsible for the development of private equity deal flow from DZ Bank's network of co-operative banks.
At Finatem, Hennig will seek to develop the firm’s proprietary deal flow. As part of this effort, DZ Bank has agreed to give Finatem first right of refusal on opportunities arising from the DZ co-operative banking network that meet Finatem's investment strategy.
Finatem recently announced the first closing of its second fund with commitments of €74 million and says it is on course for a final target of €125 million to €150 million. The firm targets investments in traditional businesses with an enterprise value of €25 million to €125 million.
Christophe Hemmerle, managing director and founding partner of Finatem, said: 'I am delighted that Robert has joined the Finatem team. I have known him for over ten years and his relationships with DZ's co-operative banks should be a real asset.'
