Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund approves $225m commitment

The US public pension has backed three separate US-based private equity funds.

The Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) has agreed to commit $75m each to Baring Asia Private Equity Fund VII, Waud Capital Partners Fund V and Vistria Fund III, according to notes from the firm’s December board meeting. IMRF has also made prior commitments to Vistria Fund I and II.

The $42.40bn US public pension currently has a 3.26 percent allocation to private equity.
