IMRF approves $256m in commitments

The US public pension has backed two private equity funds.

Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) has approved $256 million in private equity commitments, according to investment materials from the pension’s May Board meeting. The commitments comprise of €50 million ($56 million) to IK Investment Partners’ IK IX Fund and $200 million to the HarbourVest 2019 Global Fund.

The $42.70 billion US public pension has a 3.83 percent target allocation to private equity.

As illustrated in the charts below, IMRF has made nine commitments to private equity funds with a 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $802.9 million.
