Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund approved $315 million-worth of private equity commitments to three funds at its March 2021 investment committee meeting, a contact at the pension informed Private Equity International.
The commitments comprised £175 million ($245 million; €205 million) to Inflexion Buyout Fund VI, $50 million to NMS Fund IV and $20 million to LSVP SCF I.
IMRF has a 5.69 percent current allocation to private equity. The pension’s target allocation for its alternatives portfolio, which is made up of private equity, private credit, agriculture and infrastructure, is 10 percent of total investments.
As illustrated below, IMRF’s recent private equity commitments have predominantly targeted North American or European venture and buyout funds.
