International banking group Investec has recruited former KPMG M&A director, Tristan Nagler, to join its growth & acquisition finance division.
The division offers financing for private equity houses targeting a growth or acquisition strategy in mid-market companies. Capital is provided via asset based lending, mezzanine finance and/or minority equity investments.
Nagler’s primary responsibilities will include originating and executing deals with companies looking to borrow between £5 million (€5.8 million; $8million) and £50 million.
Prior to joining Investec, Nagler worked as the director of M&A for auditing giant KPMG’s London team, where he was lead advisor to entrepreneurs, financial investors and corporate clients.
Considering Investec’s very liquid balance sheet, [the bank] will continue to increase debt funding for mid-market companies
The division will utilise Nagler’s experience in working with entrepreneurial management teams and in identifying businesses attractive for growth capital, said Gary Edwards of Investec, in an interview.
“Considering Investec’s very liquid balance sheet, [the bank] will continue to increase debt funding for mid-market companies”, added Edwards. “We see the demand out there from private equity firms, Tristan will help make sure they find a way to our door and vice versa as we grow our presence in the UK market”.
Nagler described his appointment as exciting, adding “there is real momentum in the business and increasing demand for growth and acquisition funding in the market”.
