Isis appoints investment director

The UK smaller mid-market firm has hired Paul Franks as an investment director and made a series of promotions in its UK offices.

Isis Equity Partners, the UK private equity firm with offices in London, Birmingham and Manchester, and which is currently fund raising, has recruited Paul Morris to its new investments team based in London.

 

Morris joins the firm as an investment director after 18 years at Barclays, where he was most recently head of the South and London financial sponsors team at the bank’s leveraged finance unit. He completed 30 investments in mid-market transactions, including Benjys, Early Learning Centre and Salter Housewares since moving to the Barclays Leveraged Finance team in 1996.

 

The firm has also announced a series of promotions across the UK, including Mark Turner who has been made appointed director, portfolio management, after joining the firm as a portfolio director in 2001. Dominic Ely and Liz Jones have also been made investment directors.

 

Isis Equity Partners is at present raising its third fund, Isis Equity Partners III, which held a second close on £151m, ahead of a scheduled final close at the end of the year. The firm says the fund will make equity investments of between £2m and £30m in UK based companies with enterprise values of between £5m and £50m.
