JW Childs buys fruit-juice company

The Boston firm acquires Sunny Delight and Punica ‘juice-based’ drinks from consumer giant Procter & Gamble.

JW Childs Associates, the Boston buyout firm, has agreed to acquire two ‘juice-based’ drink businesses from Procter & Gamble.


Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The new company is expected to have annual revenue of $550 million (€445 million).


Ray Rudy, an operating partner of JW Childs, will become chairman of the new company while William Cyr, the vice president and general manager of Procter & Gamble’s juice based business, will become president and chief executive officer.
