Knorr ups stake in medical investor

Venture capitalist takes a majority stake in Medicis, a biotech investor.

Knorr Capital Partner has increased its stake in Medicis, an investor specialising in biotech, from 37.5 per cent to 73.75 per cent.

Medicis has 11 portfolio investments.

Knorr said Medicis will float in the latter half of this year. Medicis currently has 11 portfolio companies and has plans for nine more.

Knorr itself is traded on the Deutsche Börse. Its shares stand at E20 and it has a market capitalisation of about E180m. Knorr has stakes in 60 companies and last year acquired Canadian investor Martlet Venture Management.
