KPMG bolsters UK private equity team

The group has promoted Michael McDonagh to lead the London private equity investment team.

KPMG Corporate Finance has promoted Michael McDonagh to head the group’s London private equity office.

Prior to joining KPMG in 2000, McDonagh worked at Grant Thornton, specialising in private equity. Deals he has worked on include the recapitalisation and development capital funding of Strix Group, the public to private transactions involving BPT and Britax International and the buyouts of Forest Fencing, Isotrak and Chiltern Railways.

When asked on his expectations for the new year, McDonagh said: “I am looking at a relatively difficult period in terms of new investments, but it will get easier as the year goes on. I see more opportunities arising after the first quarter.”

McDonagh will work alongside Charles Milner, European head of private equity at KPMG.
