LSERS approves $80m in commitments and boosts allocation by 7%

The US public pension has backed three private equity funds.

LSERS has agreed to commit $80 million to three private equity funds, as confirmed by approved meeting minutes and through a representative of the organization.

Additionally, LSERS has increased target allocation to private equity from 5 percent to 12 percent.

The commitments comprise of $20 million to Rosemawr Capital IV Fund, $20 million to Rosemawr Municipal Partners Fund, and $40 million to Scout Energy Partners V, all subject to legal review. Rosemawr Management focuses exclusively on investing in the US municipal market, while Scout Energy Partners focuses on the upstream oil and gas market.

The $1.82 billion public pension currently allocates 4.2 percent of its funds to private equity.

As illustrated in the charts below, the Pension’s most recent recorded private equity fund commitment was to 2017 vintage fund Bernhard Capital Partners II for $25 million.
