MainePERS agrees to $150m in commitments

The US public pension fund has backed two North America-focused funds.

Maine Public Employees Retirement System has announced commitments of $100 million to Owl Rock Capital Corporation III and €40 million to CVC Capital Partners VIII, a contact at the pension informed Private Equity International.

The $15 billion US public pension is overweight in its private equity allocation, which currently stands at 17.8 percent against a 15 percent target.

As illustrated below, MainePERS is also overweight in allocations to its infrastructure and agri portfolios. Private equity constitutes the largest proportion of the institution’s alternative investments.
