Mainsail hires Summit’s Anderson

Michael Anderson will join the firm as a partner

California-based Mainsail Partners has hired Michael Anderson as partner. Prior to joining the firm Anderson was a principal at Summit Partners.

Anderson is coming in as the fourth investment partner at Mainsail and will focus on investments in the healthcare, software and technology industries.

Anderson is currently on the board of directors of Integrated DNA Technologies, and has previously served on the boards of a handful of technology companies.

This is the second new partner for Mainsail in as many months. The firm promoted Stephen Wolfe to Partner in March after two years as a principal. Wolfe joined the firm from Vector Capital in 2012.

Wolfe led Mainsail’s investment in Netchemia, a software provider for K-12 schools.

The firm is currently investing from its third buyout fund which closed on $216 million in 2012, as well as a $4.3 million co-investment vehicle which closed in 2013, according to Private Equity International’s research and analytics division.
