Mezzanine Management funds add-on acquisition

The hybrid debt investor has backed a Texan crane service business in its expansion.

Mezzanine Management, an independent mezzanine and private equity firm, is backing its portfolio company TNT Crane & Rigging, a full service crane and rigging operator, to acquire Kuhn Crane Service for an undisclosed amount.

Kuhn is a manned mobile crane rental company primarily serving customers in the oil and gas industry. Kuhn was founded in 1979 and today owns one of the youngest fleets of any of its competitors.

MM led the acquisition of TNT in November 2007.

Robert Davies, managing director of MM said: “The acquisition of Kuhn is a complementary strategic fit for TNT. This will not only increase the size of our existing fleet of cranes, but also allow TNT to expand into a new vertical market.

He said both the Mezzanine Management would support the company’s growth both organically and through further strategic acquisitions.
