NESPF slashes private equity allocation

North East Scotland Pension Fund (NESPF) has decreased its private equity allocation from 5.62 percent in Q1 2018 to 5.0 percent in Q1 2019, a contact at the pension informed Private Equity International.

This drop continues the phasing out of private equity from NESPF’s portfolio, with allocation to the asset class having previously reached a high of 6.31 percent in Q1 2017.

As illustrated in the charts below, the £4.50 billion public pension’s last commitment to a private equity fund was €30 million to 2016 vintage Unigestion Secondary Opportunity Fund IV.
