Lloyd Campbell, the former managing director and co-head of private finance group at Credit Suisse First Boston, has been recruited by Rothschild to head a new equity private placement business.
The Rothschild unit will advise companies in Europe and the US seeking private equity capital. The unit may expand its remit internationally after its initial set up. It will focus on strategic investments for takeovers and corporate restructuring.
“The creation of an equity private placement business at Rothschild , focusing on equity and equity linked transactions, is a natural extension of the many advisory services we already provide to clients, including M&A and restructuring. With the recent narrowing of the IPO window, companies, both private and public, are looking increasingly to the private market for capital. It’s an important product for us to offer clients and prospects in the U.S. and Europe,” commented Nigel Higgins, Head of Investment Banking for Rothschild in London.
Campbell worked for sixteen years as Managing Director and Co-Head of Private Finance Group at CSFB. Prior to that he spent five years at Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association.
Up to six new hires are expected to join Campbell in due course to build up the new unit.
