New recruit for HgCapital, Frankfurt

HgCapital expands it information & communications technology team through the appointment of Dr. Karsten Hartmann.

HgCapital has appointed Dr Karsten Hartmann as an associate director to its information & communications technology (ICT) investment team in Frankfurt.

Hartmann has a doctorate in Chemistry from Ludwig-Maximilians Munich University. He gained two years' experience within the IT industry, undertaking software programming projects for companies such as Siemens. He also spent seven years with McKinsey & Company in Munich as a corporate finance and strategy consultant within the electronics and telecommunications sector.

His appointment brings the number of executives, based in London and Frankfurt and working on European ICT investments, to six.

HgCapital focuses on companies with enterprise values ranging from E15-400m, investing a minimum of E5m in any one transaction. Recent investments within the ICT sector include Trados, the language translation software, Burns e-Commerce Solutions, the B2B internet products and services and Comnitel Technologies, the telecommunications network and service management software.
