New York State Common Retirement Fund has confirmed $2.35 billion-worth of private equity commitments to five vehicles, according to the pension’s February 2020 investment report.
The commitments comprise of $150 million to The Carlyle Group’s SASOF V fund, $200 million to Vista Foundation Fund IV and $2 billion to the pension’s co-investment fund with Neuberger Berman. The $2 billion commitment to is made up of two tranches of $750 million alongside one tranche of $500 million.
The $215.54 billion US public pension has a 10.0 percent target allocation to private equity that current stands to 9.60 percent.
As illustrated below, NYSCRF has made several commitments to private equity funds with a 2019 or 2020 vintage, which combined constitute $6.09 billion.
