NYSTRS approves $779 million in commitments

New York State Teachers’ Retirement System (NYSTRS) closed seven private equity commitments totalling $779 million in Q2 2019, according to the Board’s latest meeting materials.

The commitments comprise of $100 million to Amulet Capital Fund II, $75 million to Capstreet V, £23.1 million ($30.1 million) to Inflexion Enterprise Fund V, £50 million ($65.1 million) to Inflexion Supplemental Fund V, A$200 million ($140.8 million) to Pacific Equity Partners VI, $100 million to Tailwater Energy Fund IV, $100 million to Clearlake Special Opportunities II and €150 million ($168 million) to The Seventh Cinven Fund.

The $121.80 billion US public pension has an 8.0 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 7.50 percent.

As illustrated in the charts below, NYSTRS has made ten commitments to private equity funds with a 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $969.1 million.
