The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP) has appointed Nicole Musicco to the newly created position of managing director for Asia-Pacific and head of its Hong Kong office.
OTPP opened its Asia-Pacific Hong Kong office in 2013 and has a regional asset portfolio worth $12 billion as of 31 December.
“Nicole’s new role reflects our growing commitment to the Asia-Pacific market and its importance to the future of our fund,” chief executive officer and interim chief investment officer Ron Mock said in a statement.
Musicco has a strong private equity background, with experience in direct and fund investing, the statement said. She joined Teachers’ Private Capital in 2002, where she was previously vice president, and also served as director of funds, an investment analyst and an associate of US buyouts.
According to Musicco’s Bloomberg profile, at Teachers’ Private Capital she led the global fund program and was responsible for private equity and venture capital funds, emerging market co-investments and underwriting activities.
She worked in the corporate finance and investment banking division at Citigroup before Teachers’ Private Capital.
