Pantheon to look for new business

The fund of funds manager has hired Peter Flynn as marketing director to capitalise on institutional interest in private equity.

Pantheon Ventures has hired Peter Flynn to work in the newly created position of marketing director.

Previously Flynn was a manager at InvestorForce, an online search platform covering alternative and traditional investment products for the institutional market. He was responsible for the company’s strategy and expansion in the region. Prior to that he was a managing director at Fleming Investment Management, responsible for the group’s European institutional business, a position he took after six years with Rothschild Asset Management.

Based in Pantheon’s London office, Flynn primarily will be looking to establish new institutional relationships for the group. The appointment comes as Pantheon is encountering increasing interest in private equity as an asset class among institutions, particularly in the UK and continental Europe, the firm said.

The group has recently won a $100m European private equity funds of funds mandate for the Consignia Pension Fund. It will also be running a £40m global mandate for the West Sussex County Council Pension Fund.

Pantheon, formed in 1982, manages around $5.4bn on behalf of clients.
