Phoenix boosts team(3)

The UK mid-market firm has made one internal promotion as it looks to invest its latest fund.

Phoenix Equity Partners has promoted Tim Dunn to principal.

Dunn has been at Phoenix since 2004 and has been involved in several deals including Palletways, Westwar Holidays, Radley, NFT Distribution and ASCO. Before Phoenix, he worked as an analyst at Monitor Clipper Partners.

London-based Phoenix manages more than £900 million. Its recent deals include Gaucho Grill, a UK restaurant chain that it bought for £55 million in a secondary buyout from Barclays Private Equity in August 2006, and Precise Media Group, a provider of media monitoring and evaluation services, that it bought for £42 million in December.

The firm is currently investing a £375 million fund that it raised in April 2006.
