New York-based Pine Brook Road Partners has hired Robert Jackowitz as its chief financial officer.
Most recently he was treasurer and chief financial officer of US advisor ESL Investments, which manages private partnership assets in excess of $15 billion.
Before joining ESL, he was senior vice president and chief financial officer of Harvest Partners, a middle market private equity firm in New York.
Established last year, the energy- and financial services-focused Pine Brook Road is led by Howard Newman, the former vice chairman of Warburg Pincus. Newman was with Warburg Pincus for 22 years.
McMahon founded energy and cleantech venture firm RockPort Capital, and also worked at Harvard Management, where he was responsible for energy-related private equity investments. Spiegel most recently served as president of The Cypress Group, and also worked for Lehman Brothers’ Merchant Banking Group. Glanville was recently senior vice president of financial and treasury services for Arch Capital; he also worked under Newman at Warbug Pincus from 1999 to 2003.
Gantz, who serves as Pine Brook Road’s chief operating officer, has been the chairman and or chief executive of seven companies. He has also played roles in the turnaround of private equity-controlled businesses including Seymour Housewares, a Chase Capital Partners portfolio company, and Fitz & Floyd, an ML-Lee Acquisitions Funds II portfolio company.
In July 2006, Pine Brook invested in Phoenix Exploration, a Texan oil and gas start-up.
