Portfolio Advisors hires co-founder of New York Life Capital

Adam Clemens was responsible for co-investment, mezzanine and limited partnership investing at New York Life Capital Partners.

Fund of funds Portfolio Advisors has hired co-founder and president of New York Life Capital Partners Adam Clemens and Gregory Garrett, a former partner at Adams Street Partners, as managing directors.

Clemens was responsible for co-investment, mezzanine and limited partnership investing at New York Life. Garrett had responsibility for primary and secondaries investments.

Portfolio Advisors has 12 managing directors.

The firm closed its debut secondaries fund on $1.1 billion in November. The Darien, Connecticut-based firm has been making secondaries investments since 2003, completing more than $1 billion in transactions.
