PSERS commits $75m to Orchid Asia’s seventh fund

The US pension fund continues its effort to seek Asian opportunities.

Pennsylvania Public school employees’ retirement system (PSERS) approved $75 million to the Orchid Asia Fund VII.

The firm, which is looking to garner a total of $900 million, will use the capital to make equity investment in consumer, retail, healthcare, Technology, Media and Telecoms (TMT) and manufacturing sectors in China.

PSERS has now invested in three funds in the Orchid Asia fund series, including Fund V, VI and VII, totaling $190 million commitment.
