Robeco private equity fund offers retail tranche

The Dutch asset manager is offering individuals access to the Robeco Global Private Equity fund, a fund of funds that is going to close next year.

Individuals are given the option to buy into the Robeco Private Equity fund, a retail private equity fund set up by the Dutch asset manager The Robeco Group.

According to VentureWire, the fund will list on Amsterdam's Euronext stock exchange next month and give individuals access to the firm's master fund, the Robeco Global Private Equity fund.

Robeco Global Private Equity fund, a fund of funds, is aiming to raise E500m by the first quarter of 2002. No target figure has been disclosed for the retail tranche that will contribute to this total.

The fund of funds has raised E180m to date, a portion of which comes from Robeco itself. Investments will be made in venture capital, development capital and buyout funds.

Investors can buy Robeco Private Equity shares for E100m a piece. Robeco Advies and Rabobank are among the institutions placing the shares. The subscription period ends on July 20.
