SG Capital sets up in France

The pan-European private equity firm has hired three associates to join the newly-launched Paris office, adding to offices in London, Munich and Milan.

SG Capital Europe, the pan-European private equity fund sponsored by Société Générale, has launched a French office, adding to the firm’s existing operations in London, Munich and Milan.

The firm, which manages funds totalling E320m, has hired three associates as part of the launch. Wandrille Ract-Madoux, Antonia Mills, and Albane d’Halluin will join the firm later this month.

SG CE 's team is made up of ten partners, including Boris Levin, Marco Ariello, Philippe Sevin, Jan Langenbach, Francesco de Giglio, Bruno Lambert, Mauro Roversi and Philip Percival. The firm targets mid-market groups with enterprise values comprised between E30m and E200m.

In the past twelve months the firm has invested in companies with a combined enterprise value of E300m. Among these are Est Vidéocommunication, the French cable operator; AEB, a wine ingredients business; and Coditel (the Belgium cable business merged with Est Vidéocommunication).

SG CE has also announced an exit on its investment in Joyau, which was bought by Schenker, which the firm says provided it with a substantial, although undisclosed, return.
