SVIIT hires former Hamilton Lane MD

The private equity fund of funds has added Marc Bonavitacola to the firm’s US operations.

Schroder Ventures International Investment Trust (SVIIT), the private equity funds of funds company listed on the London Stock Exchange and investing in Schroder Ventures and Permira funds, has made an appointment to its US fund of funds and third party funds advisory business Schroder Ventures (Boston), hiring former Hamilton Lane managing director and principal Marc Bonavitacola.

In his new role, Bonavitacola will work alongside Solomon Owayda and Guy Eastman in advising fund of funds and third parties on private equity fund selection. 

While at Hamilton Lane, Bonavitacola was a member of the investment committee and a portfolio manager responsible for the analysis, construction and management of private equity portfolios for clients around the world. He also monitored fund performance and designed customised products and portfolios for clients.

Previously, he was chief investment officer for the $5bn City of Philadelphia Public Employees Retirement System, where he developed the System’s private equity programme.

SVIIT, with net assets of £423m, has reported compound net asset growth per share of 16.9 per cent per annum over the past five years, outperforming the FTSE World Index on a compound basis by 15.5 per cent per annum over the same period.
