Trilantic North America raises $2.75bn

The New York-based private equity firm held a final closing of its sixth buyout fund.

Trilantic Capital Partners North America held a final closing of its sixth fund, Trilantic Capital Partners VI, at $2.75 billion, exceeding its $2.25 billion target. The fund surpassed its predecessor, Trilantic Capital Partners V, which closed in December 2013 at $2.19 billion.

Fund VI received commitments from several institutions including Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System, University of Michigan, El Paso Firemen & Policemen’s Pension Fund and Plymouth County Retirement System.

The New York-based firm will use capital raised by Fund VI to invest in companies throughout North America within the consumer goods, energy and business services industries.

Evercore Private Funds Group was the placement agent for the fund.
