UMich approves $134m in commitments

The US public pension has backed North America focused funds.

University of Michigan has announced commitments of $50 million to Bain Capital Life Sciences Fund II and Five Point Energy Fund III and $34 million to various Accel Partners funds (names of the funds were not disclosed).

The $12.10 billion US endowment has a 48.70 percent asset allocation to alternative investments of which 28.90 percent is currently allocated to private equity investments.

As illustrated in the charts below, UMich has made numerous commitments to private equity funds in 2019, which combined constitute $471 million.
