Anil Shrivastava has been hired by New York-based Vestar Capital Partners as a managing director in the firm’s healthcare group. During his 15 years as a partner in the healthcare and private equity groups at Bain & Company, Shrivastava focused his efforts on the health care industry, teaming with investors and managers to identify untapped value in their companies.
Shrivastava is Vestar’s third new managing director of 2007. Roger Holstein joined the management team in January and Patrick Shattenkirk was named a managing director and head of investor relations last March.
Its investments in the health care sector include National MENTOR Holdings and MediMedia USA.
Vestar now manages approximately $7 billion in total commitments. Vestar closed its fifth fund, of $3.7 billion, in December 2005. The firm has offices in New York, Boston, Denver, Paris, Milan and Tokyo.
In March, Vestar acquired Huish Detergents, North America’s largest manufacturer of laundry detergents and fabric softeners.
