Warburg Pincus has become the latest firm to announce a raft of internal promotions as private equity firms strive to hang on to homegrown talent and incentivise key personnel.

Global private equity firm Warburg Pincus has named nine new managing directors through seven promotions and two hires.

At the firm’s London office, Simon Begg, a capital markets specialist, and Paul Best from the firm’s consumer, industrial and services (CIS) team, have both been promoted from principal to managing director.

Joe Gagnon, a member of Warburg Pincus’ real estate team, and investor relations executive Yue Zhiming have also become managing directors. Both are based in the firm’s Hong Kong office.

Rounding out the internal promotions to managing director are: Ntin Nayartechnology, a technology, media and telecoms specialist based in Mumbai; Vishnu Menon, another TMT specialist working from the firm’s San Francisco operation; and Dan Zamlong, from the New York office’s CIS team.

In addition to the internal promotions, Warburg Pincus has hired Mazin Al Khatib and Somit Varma as managing directors.
